Certified Internal Auditor

The Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) - This is the Institute's premier qualification and the profession's most globally recognised and respected credential. The CIA designation indicates to employers that the internal auditor has a solid foundation of internal auditing knowledge and the ability to apply that knowledge in the workplace. The CIA is awarded after four international examination papers have been passed with a minimum of 75% per paper. Specific education and experience requirements are required to gain admission to the examinations - either a relevant three-year degree or diploma and three years' relevant experience, OR a four-year degree or diploma plus two years' relevant experience.

Candidates must agree to adhere to the Code of Ethics. Those who have achieved the CIA designation must demonstrate ongoing professional commitment to the field by satisfying continuing professional development requirements (CPD).
