Eligibility: CCSA

The CCSA is a respected certification for CSA practitioners, and certain eligibility requirements must be met in order to take the exam. The education and character reference requirements must be met before a candidate will be allowed to take the CCSA exam. The professional experience and facilitation requirements may be met before or after taking the CCSA exam, but must be completed and submitted before a candidate can become certified and use the CCSA designation.

EDUCATION
CCSA candidates must have an Honours degree or equivalent. A minimum of a three-year academic qualification with an accredited organization plus three years of general business experience may be substituted for an Honours degree in the CCSA program. Candidates must submit a copy of their degree or transcripts with their registration form unless they have previously submitted it with their membership application.

CHARACTER REFERENCE
CCSA candidates must exhibit high moral and professional character and must submit a character reference form with their exam application form unless it has been previously submitted with their membership application.

CODE OF ETHICS
CCSAs and CCSA candidates are expected to display exemplary professional behavior and judgment and must agree to abide by the Code of Ethics established by The IIA.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
CCSA candidates must obtain three years of control-related business experience, such as CSA, auditing, quality assurance, risk management, or environmental auditing. Verification of appropriate work experience may accompany the application or be submitted later.

FACILITATION EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
CCSA candidates must obtain at least seven hours of acceptable facilitation experience or at least 14 hours of acceptable facilitation training. To be considered acceptable, facilitation experience or training must meet the guidelines listed on the facilitation validation form. Validation of facilitation experience/training may be submitted with the application or at a later time.
