The Technical Committee was established by the Board of the IIA SA to provide technical leadership and support to the broader internal audit profession with specific focus on:

• Adding value to its members
  
• Providing the "voice" of the IIA on technical issues
  
• Raising the profile of the profession and improving its image
  
• Issuing guidance to members and others, on important current issues.

TECHNICAL GUIDANCE

• The International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing
• The first finalised technical guidance series paper from the Technical Committee of the IIASA, “How to employ an internal auditor – A guide to resourcing internal audit”, was released at the Heads of Internal Audit conference held on 25-26 January 2008 in Sun City, after having been released for public comment at the 2007 National Conference. The results of the Common Body of Knowledge (CBOK) 2006 project of the IIA Inc. have been incorporated into the final document
